About Me

That's Me - up above.
Not the best picture, I hate having my picture taken.
I am Innocent Charms Chats - why Innocent Charms, well many moons ago now when I started my little humble blog, I had just become a part time handmade jewellery maker (totally self taught) and I thought blogging would be a great way for me to meet other crafters and drum up business.

It did and Innocent Charms did very well for the 3 years the website was up and running, fairs were being attended and jewellery parties were a success.
Then bam life changed and I got pregnant, complete shock as we never were sure it was possible and in January 2009 my little Monkey was born.

Isn't he handsome ? (wow that feels like a long time ago), my intentions when Grayson was born were to keep Innocent Charms going just to slow down a little, I would only be working (my day job) part time so I would have some extra time at home and at the beginning this worked.

Then unfortunately around Grayson hitting 4 months our lives were changed and time would never be the same again, Grayson stopped breathing twice in 1 day and was rushed to hospital, after many weeks in and out of hospital, many tests and very scary times for me, the hubby and our families, we found out Grayson would never be what we had first thought.

Grayson had brain damage and later to find out some rare medical conditions which they have no clue about, my son is and will always be disabled (or as hospitals call it "Special") this took alot of time to get used to, can I honestly say I am used to it yet - probably not, but I have acceptance.

Grayson is now coming up 2 1/2 and beautiful, he strives all on his own and amazes people every day.

So with his ever growing medical appointments and therapies, Innocent Charms became no more, it was a sad time for me, everything is still in my home packed in boxes and I look at it and long to play but then I see the smile above and realise its all worth it.

So for a while Innocent Charms Chats - become pointless, it took a slow turn and I missed my little blog and the wonderful friends I had met through it, then through the wonderful world of twitter I found a new use for my blog, a place to talk about my life as a Mama, my life as a woman, a place to share advice on being a mummy to a disabled son, a place to show my shopping loves. An on line diary and notebook of Kara's brain (that's me by the way) as scary as that maybe.

2011 - Has passed and what changes have happened for Innocent Charms Chats ?

Well the little girl I have spoke of finally arrived in May 2011, Addison Florence Blossom, she is a feisty, beautiful, strong minded princess.

The past 7 months have been hard but wonderful. Grayson had a hard end to the year with the promise of operations to take place in 2012 but all through this we have been fortunate enough to meet some fab new friends on line, without them this year would have been a great deal harder.

I am sure that 2012 will bring more changes to Innocent Charms Chats, one thing I know, I will find a way to embrace it and enjoy my little space in the world wide web.

Here is the man behind the woman, if I didn't have him I would not be so successful in my life today.
